CATCH-point staff work as a team in all therapeutic and support programmes. Families will be involved with more than one therapist including one key therapist with whom to consult and direct any questions or concerns.

Creative Attachment Therapy Programmes

The focus of therapy is attachment, bereavement, healing of trauma and celebration. Through shared creative and play activities, parents are encouraged to engage with their child so that they can contribute to their child’s healing. Parents are included as partners in the therapeutic team and will be offered telephone or email feedback between sessions. The programmes include consultations for parents and school staff so that there is an integrated response to the child’s difficult behaviours. The therapeutic model combines directive and non-directive elements, challenging the child’s controlling and rejecting behaviours at the same time as building alternative patterns for positive two-way communication.

Therapeutic Programmes include:
• Weekly or fortnightly therapy, which includes at least one
parent and can include other family members. (Timing can
be flexible to suit the needs of the family)
• Consultations with parents to which the adoption support
  worker is welcome.
• Consultations with school staff including visits if required
• Email or telephone support between sessions
• Report and review after 3 months and then as agreed.

Two therapists may need to be involved in therapy sessions by prior agreement
